The Award show featured such guests as Lady Of Rage, Queen Pen, Miche’le, Sparky D and a host of others who came out to support the women in Hip-Hop. The (SIS)TEM took home the Trailblazer of the Year Award and DJ Jiji Sweet took home the Female DJ of the Year Award. CONGRATULATIONS!

QUEEN’S COUNSEL
Today and every Tuesday through the end of year I will be introducing female artists who I feel are putting out great music, show a respect for the game and take it seriously by putting their heart and soul into each song they release. These women will represent quality music, show great work ethic, and get a big thumbs up from me as an emcee and as a fan.
Canada? Yes! Toronto is in the building! Eternia, not new to those who’ve kept their ears to the street, is a true emcee. Juno-nominated (that’s like the Grammy’s in Canada) she has been deemed one of the region’s illest. Since releasing 3 full length albums since 2005, she has toured across the globe; from Canada to the US to Austrailia to Mexico and Europe. Those who’ve had the pleasure of seeing her do her thing live have had nothing but great things to stay about her stage presence and crowd gripping performance. To that credit, she has been billed with respected acts such as KRS One, Common, Pharoahe Monch, MC Lyte, Jeru the Damaja, Scratch of The Roots, O.C., Bahamadia, Roxanne Shante, Prince Paul, Necro, D-12, Saukrates, Invincible & more.
…and I think the heads are paying attention. You can tell by the work she puts into her 4th project that boasts the production of some of the nicest in the game. [i.e. Moss, 9th Wonder & Frequency] and collabs from some of the best to do it like Rah Digga, Lady of Rage, Jean Grae, Joell Ortiz, Termanology. Eternia has even gone as far as launching her own T-Shirt line “My Favorite Rapper Wears A Skirt” that has become a huge success and widely circulated to her fans worldwide. AND IT DON’T STOP!

QUEEN’S COUNSEL

These women will represent quality music, show great work ethic, and get a big thumbs up from me as an emcee and as a fan.
Fiona Simone, born in Miami, FL now residing in Atlanta, is a different breed of emcee. She’s a producer, engineer, ghostwriter, graphic designer and a dope lyricist. Which in short means she’s wearing all the hats when it comes to the success of her career. Poised and focused, Fiona contiunes to work constantly on new music staying ahead of the curve. She has appeared on numerous mix-tapes including DJ Drama’s “Gangsta Grillz”, Rob Jackson’s “Highway Robbery” and her self-released underground albums, Ladies Room 1 & 2 and most recently TomBoy Freshman Class of 2012.
Penning rhymes since the young age of 15, you can tell this emcee is not new to this. Fiona is ofen remembered for her live performances where she, along with her live band and crew, are known to kill shows. Over the past few years she’s began her own movement in the Atlanta area and currently you can see that movement spread as far as the West Coast with the emcee doing showsin the Oakland and Los Angeles areas.
I can go on about how gifted this young lady is but I’d rather you make that determination for yourself.

President OBAMA’s Stimulus Plan
President OBAMA is in office and believe me his presence is felt. I ran across this on the CNN Money page today. Here are some of his ideas for how the $825 Billion should be spent. I definitely enjoyed seeing line items for the IMPORTANT things; i.e. Education, healthcare, unemployment benefits for all of those out of work. But take a look for yourself and see what’s going on (or about to go down) in Washington. Now, he isn’t God….but he damn sure ain’t Bush. And that is something I am ecstatic about.
